VG Power has signed a contract with Kemijoki OY regarding design, manufacturing and installation of a new upgraded stator for Petäjäskoski hydro power plant, located close to Rovaniemi, Finland. Existing stator rated 60 MVA, 100 rpm will be replaced with a new and the generator will be upgraded to 70 MVA.
The client is also performing upgrade of the turbine and the power plant is scheduled to be ready for commercial operation in november 2011. VG Power has recently supplied similar upgrade of Ossauskoski power plant for the same client.
