VG Power has signed a contract with Eidsiva Vannkraft AS regarding design, manufacturing and installation of a new vertical generator 333 rpm, 114 MVA for Rendalen II in the municipality of Rendalen. The power plant which already has one underground unit built 1971 utilize the head of 210 m between lake Glomma and Lomnessjön will now be extended with this second unit.
The plant is owned by Opplandskraft DA which is a joint company owned by Akershus Energi AS, E-CO Vannkraft AS, Oppland Energi AS and Eidsiva Vannkraft AS. New Rendalen power plant will be one of the regions largest hydro plants with an annual production of 750 GWh. Total investment in this new plant is app. 450 million NOK. The generator from VG Power is supplied complete including excitation equipment and will be ready for operation in 2012.
