The new runner is now hoisted in to the pit in Ligga power plant, Lule river. The 5-blade kaplan runner with a diameter of 7500 mm, weight 195 t and output 170 MW is the most powerful kaplan runner in Sweden. Model tests have previously been carried out together with the client Vattenfall and the refurbished unit 3 is expected to be in operation later this autumn.
Besides the new runner from VOITH Hydro, VG Power is also performing various generator works including a new static excitation rated 1575 A.
